Taking inspiration from a renowned blog on career options after graduation from a dental school, I intend to summarize the options I gathered after extensive surfing on the internet, talking to career counselors and known seniors doing well in their respective fields.
Masters or post graduation programs- in the field of your choice, you can choose to do it in your native land or travel to foreign lands to study and explore.
Diploma or certificate or Continuing Dental Education programs –pursue program of your choice, which would help you to enhance your clinical practice
Private practice or clinical set up- if you are confident enough to get started in the world of practice
Dental tourism- take clinical practice to the next level.
Management or business administration studies- to get a managerial position in various health care sectors
Research programs and grants- have the research edge? Enter and do something huge!!
Clinical trials- various companies launch different products, but, before that they need a clinical trial for approval of the product. Register your clinic for clinical trials.
Hospital jobs- various dental hospitals offer positions for graduates at a good pay
Company panelist- various companies offer positions to dentists and physicians as a panelist to monitor the health records of the employees
Academics- want to teach and make a difference, this is the right choice!
Author- you could write a book
Medical transcription and medical editor- these positions are available for fresh graduates from the medical or dental school, who are interested in editing various research publications
Dental laboratory- set up a laboratory
Dental products manufacturing- demand for better products is always high
Advertising or media or journalism- for promoting the advancements to the common people
Medico-legal studies- become a medico legal lawyer and help your colleagues in times of need
Dentistry is changing and changing for good, and faster than ever before. Opportunities are more than they were ever before. It’s up to you to seize the opportunity and make the most of it. It depends on how big you think, rather than how conventional your thoughts are.
