Why not make it GLOCAL?
GLOCAL? It just means making global things, local!
What does it have to do with dentists? My dear friends, a lot!
You never know where future takes you: be it marriage, or just a dream to settle in a particular country, if we make it with the license: nothing like it! But, if not, regret and just more regret!
All over the world, health education is almost the same, standard textbooks and standard procedures, standard drug and practice protocol. Be it Asians, Caucasians, Afro or Mongoloids –they all drill and fill and extract and restore! Then, what is the logic behind part 1, part 2, and different states and country exams?.
Now, suppose if we were using my concept of GLOCAL; I would be trained with the globally accepted curriculum. I would be taught to keep up with the upcoming trends and the latest research. The assessment scheme also would be same worldwide. I would learn better and also keep pace with colleagues all over the world, even if I’m being educated in the remotest area.
There could be a training of a certain time for the legal and financial issues of a particular country for foreigners. So that, they are safe in the medico-legal aspects too.
All the countries would be locally taught the globally accepted concept. Wouldn’t it be a perfect thing?!?
Then, I wouldn’t have to think a second time. Be it any city, country or continent. I know my dentistry, and I know the laws. I can get set go! I’m free of the license and the validity and the acceptability!
Think over it my dear colleagues, DentistryUnited can make a difference and make it GLOCAL
